Aurora Brooklyn

Aurora is a rustic Italian restaurant on Grand Street, opened in 2003 by three Italian friends who settled in Williamsburg and found the neighborhood lacking authentic Italian food. The kitchen makes its own pasta and gelato, imports cheese from Italy daily, and runs dishes inspired by the Piedmont region — tuna tartare, mushroom and ricotta bruschetta, squid ink pasta with seafood, grilled whole fish. The vine-covered patio is open-air in warm months and enclosed in winter, and the space has been used for intimate private events. It's one of the longer-running Italian spots in the neighborhood.
